Or client is looking to appoint a proactive and conscientious Administration Officer to join their busy department in Newport.

Essential Skills:
•5 GCSEs A*-C, including Maths and English, or equivalent
•Business Administration/IT, or equivalent qualification at level 2, or above
•You will have experience of working in an administrative/office environment.
•Self-motivated, proactive and professional
•Excellent communication skills
•Strong IT skills to include a good level of competency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and the internet
•Experience of monitoring and maintaining records
•Ability to respond to requests for information in a positive and friendly way, ensuring that it is accurate and up to date
•Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload, often with conflicting demands, in order to ensure deadlines are met
•Ability to compose own documents – layout, grammatical content, and appropriate tone
•Excellent verbal and written skills, including minute taking skills
•Ability to work as part of a team
•To be flexible and willing to work additional hours as and when required to meet the needs of the business.
•Ability to travel to different sites

Job Responsibilities:
•To provide high-quality administrative support to the English and Mathematics team, including being the main point of contact for staff and learners at a designated site.
•To carry out general administration duties for staff within the department, including photocopying, typing, collection of post and other similar activities
•To be the main administrative point of contact for staff and learners with enquires regarding English and maths
•To support the English and maths attendance policy, including chasing absence and informing tutors and Heads of Schools of their learners who have missed English and maths lessons
•To update the weekly attendance by tutor spreadsheet for the Head of English & Mathematics
•To work with the Leaders of Learning and Management Information Services to identify and resolve timetabling issues to maximise the efficient and effective use of rooms and staff always with a clear focus on the needs of the learners
•To review and provide first stage authorisation for hourly paid teaching claims in accordance with HR guidelines to ensure accurate and timely payment
•To actively support activities relating to the recruitment, enrolment and retention of learn-ers in line with the needs of the campus (ie open evenings, open days and parents’ eve-nings).
