The ideal candidate will have several years Supervisory/ Man-Management experience and will have previously worked within a fast paced, heavy industrial environment. They would need to have experience of working to strict safety standards, man-management of multiple work groups (and skills) to ensure all customer requirements are met safely, to standard and on time.
Identification of work requirements through direct client interaction and site inspection.
Scheduling and co-ordination of multiple work groups to ensure the clients demands are met and all company policies and procedures are complied with at all times.
Ensure that all works are carried out safely following relevant permits and to the customers’ requirement.
Participate in internal and client safety audits.
Create and review risk assessments and work instructions for submission to client in advance of scheduled operations.
Delivery of Safety Briefs and other safety related updates to the operational team.
Use of safety reporting systems and incident management/investigation.
Identification and implementation of employee training needs.
Ensure adherence to mobile plant operating standards including completion of daily pre-start checks and liaison with maintenance function as required.
HR processes from recruitment through to potential formal proceedings.
To agree, monitor and record any additional works to the contract services.
To attend various internal and client meetings ensuring all relevant information is available and in appropriate format.
To continuously liaise with the management team and client to keep them informed on safety related matters, work progress, and any operational changes that may be required including any implications for additional costs.
Completion of weekly departmental administration tasks – generally tracking all work activities ensuring transparency and accountability of all works undertaken.
Prepare weekly / monthly report for Senior Management meeting.
To undertake necessary training as and when required, in accordance with Health & Safety regulations and Company requirements.
Experience / Requirements:
IOSH or NEBOSH qualification preferred.
Extensive man-management experience across all levels, ideally managing teams of 50+ employees and contractors at one time.
Experience of direct customer interaction.
2 or more years leading multiple work streams.
Experience of working with heavy mobile plant operations including loading shovels, articulated dump trucks, tracked dozers and screening operations.
Experience of leading labour teams with a mix of day and shift workers.
Experience of working under strict permit systems.
Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint conversant with ability to create and manipulate documents and formulae.
