· Proof reading Welsh medium materials
Job Responsibilities:
· Work as part of a busy translation team in order to meet the translation requirements of a rapidly developing organisation.
· Translate, edit or proof read internally produced documents (these may include administrative materials for centres, subject-specific materials and a variety of corporate materials e.g., finance, HR, Marketing) or edit and proofread any work externally translated.
· Ensure that the style and register is appropriate for the target audience when translating, following the General Style Guide and Style Guide for the Production of Question Papers.
· Make full use of Déjà vu translation software on a daily basis in completing anytranslationwork,contributingtoensuringthetranslationmemoryisaccurate.
· Consult with the line manager on any requirements, following the appropriate procedures and forward planning effectively.
· Provide day-to-day translations of any Welsh-medium correspondence addressed to non-Welsh speaking members of staff and translate any responses required into Welsh.
· Be able to adapt and work flexibly and in an impromptu way in order to meet the requirements of the Language Service in general at short notice.
· Contribute to any discussion with the resource editors/question paper editors on day today aspects of developing a high standard fully bilingual service.
· This will involve contributing to the language service's terminology work which includes collaboration with Canolfan Bedwyr.
