Our client is a FinTech startup, developing new products that connect merchants and consumers in the physical world.  Their first product is a mobile web application for the hospitality industry, enabling consumers to order and pay for food and drinks at any of their partner venues.

They believe the hospitality world will change post-lockdown.  Forever.  They anticipate a huge demand for their products and services, because they eliminate the need for queues, menus and cash, as well as reducing contact between customers and staff and reducing the movement of customers within venues.

Our client is now investing in a number of new roles to grow their business and help the, achieve their goal of becoming the number one mobile ordering platform within the hospitality industry.

What they’re looking for:

Our client is a tech company, so you’d expect them to take a digital first, data-driven approach.  To achieve their ambition of becoming the number one mobile ordering platform within the UK and Europe, they need to use technology to reach their merchant partner customers, get their interest and generate leads.  They also need to build awareness of their products with app users - driving them to their app and using it to buy products from their merchant partners. 

Our client are looking for someone with 5+ years digital marketing experience using the latest digital marketing tools, channels and techniques who can not only create great content but knows how to get this in front of their target customers and app users using both paid and unpaid media.  You’ll be data-driven with experience of using data to empirically evaluate the return on investment to drive their marketing approach.

The ideal candidate will also have experience of marketing to the hospitality and leisure industry (pubs, bars, restaurants, cafe’s, hotels, clubs) and will already know where and how to target our marketing resources to achieve maximum impact.

Essential qualities:

Our client isn’t going to hire someone for this role and then tell them what to do.  They’re looking for someone with the experience and capability to define their digital marketing strategy, agree a budget and then execute it.  You’ll already have a proven track record of doing this, and they’d love to hear about some of your previous campaigns.

You’ll be comfortable using digital design tools to create your own designs and be able to create compelling content to go with them.  You’ll have experience of designing and executing digital campaigns across the main and emerging digital channels and social
media platforms, using both paid and unpaid content.  You’ll be comfortable working on your own initiative creating engaging content and executing their campaigns.  Of course, you’ll also be an expert in SEO.

As a startup, our client needs to know that they’re getting value from their marketing spend, and they need to know how effective their campaigns are across all channels.  You’ll already know how digital paid advertising works and will have already formed your own views of what works and what doesn’t.  You’ll use data analysis and your commercial awareness to make decisions to allocate our client’s cash to the most effective channels, and be able to put in place the processes and tools to measure the value of their spend across all channels.
