Roles and responsibilities
Provide businesses with every aspect of food safety from practical advice all the way through to implementing the right food safety procedures and policies
Develop, implement, monitor and review health and safety strategies, policies, procedures, risk assessments and safe working practices
Carrying out workplace inspections and implementing any actions or improvements required
Requirements
Experience of working with relevant legislation, in a related area and in a local authority
Diploma/Degree in Environmental Health as recognised by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Officers Education Board or IFST Higher Certificate in Food Premises Inspection
Hold registration by the Environmental Health Registration Board
2 years' experience in food control or health and safety work gained in the last 3 years
Knowledge of current issues in food control, health and safety and current issues in infectious diseases
Full drivers’ licence
