An experienced Facade designer is required to work for a well-established, highly recognised fenestration and curtain walling company based in Swansea. Candidate will have previous curtain walling, facade or glazing experience.
The Facade Designer will have great customer service experience capabilities, as they will be working closely alongside clients to discuss technical queries and cost-effective design proposals via telephone and email. They will need to be highly proficient in AutoCAD and any practical experience working with Revit or BIM would be advantageous, but not essential. The Facade Designer will have proven industry experience and a good understating of the building regulations and BS standards relating to the design and workings of window, door and curtain-walling systems.
The role would also suit an Architectural Technologist, that is keen to learn and is looking for a progressive role within a well-established company. However, a good understanding of Curtain wall, windows and doors is a key requirement.
Position Overview:
•Produce high end technical drawings and AutoCAD design proposals
•Have a good eye for detail and accuracy
•Be able to work diligently on their own and within a well-established design team
•Be able to confidently read and understand Technical drawings
•Answer technical design queries from client, the company's sales team & installers.
•Attend internal and external meetings to discuss client requirements
•Previous work experience of using AutoCAD (essential) and REVIT (desirable)
•Knowledge of curtain walling, window, door & Structural Glazing design (essential)
•Good understanding of building construction, methods & regulations (essential)
•Previous experience working with clients and architects via telephone and email
•Minimum of 2-3 Years’ Experience in Facade Design
