Our client is looking to recruit a Finance & Credit Officer who will have a wide remit in assisting the Business Partners and Senior Business Partner in delivering the responsibilities of the team.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Assisting in establishing and maintaining appropriate budgetary systems and accounting procedures relevant to the Capital Programme; liaising with relevant departments and assisting in the resolution of technical and other issues;
· Assisting in complying with legal and accounting requirements and deadlines relating to the Council’s Statutory Accounts and Returns, including VAT monitoring and returns to HMRC;
· Assisting on matters relating to performance and risk management for the Accountancy Division;
· Assisting with monitoring of control accounts and the development, streamlining and maintenance of financial systems and processes;
· Assisting with the requirements of the Council’s Bank Reconciliation and Treasury Management functions;
· Processing and validation of invoices utilising the KOFAX and Civica Financials systems, to include the validation of suppliers, invoices totals and VAT; and
· Production of payment runs from feeder systems such as SIMS, housing benefits, utilities, childcare, foster payments, grants, kinship, ILF and direct/supporting payments including file conversion, verification of creditor accounts and BACS authorisation.
