Our client is a large medical establishment in various locations across South Wales. They currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Medical Records Clerk to fill a temporary post.
Duties & Responsibilities
· To provide a patient focused administrative role supporting a virtual outpatients service.
· Working up to 37.5 hours a week Monday- Friday within core hours (08:30-17:00), flexible working requests may be considered.
· To initiate, retrieve and file case notes and prepare and provide case notes for the virtual outpatient service. This may include working in a number of venues in Merthyr Tydfil and Rhonda Cynon Taf to physically retrieve patient notes from clinical setting. As such, owntransport is essential.
· To input and extract personal, patient related data from the on-line patient records system (Welsh Patient Administration System WPAS) in a timely manner. Knowledge will be obtained through in-house training/ on the job training.
· To file documentation in an accurate and timely manner
· To provide a photocopying and reprographic service
· Business Administration/Customer Care NVQ’s/RSA at Level 2 or similar desirable
Essential Skills
· The post holder’s duties require standard keyboard skills when accessing and inputting information onto the computerised System and will involve medium periods sitting at a computer.
· Manoeuvring case note trolleys to clinics for short periods on a daily basis. Retrieval of case notes from file and re-filing the case notes back into file on a regular daily basis.
· The post holder will be required to use own initiative to problem solve routine issues ensuring that all case notes are tracked to thecorrect location using the case note tracking system, whilst referring any non-routine matters to line manager.
· The post holder will be expected to organise own day to day tasks, and is required to plan and organise straightforward activities e.g. preparation of case notes for upcoming virtual clinics
