Our client, a well-established and successful engineering consultancy and due to increase in major
new build and refurbishment projects is seeking a keen Structural Engineer with a minimum of 2- 4
years’ experience in building structures design within a UK Consultancy.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Engineer who is looking to realise their potential
within the industry working on a wide scope of interesting and challenging building structures
schemes.
You will be responsible for working on a wide scope of interesting and challenging building structure schemes, delivering projects from design stage to construction while supporting the contractor on site queries.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES
•Managing projects under appropriate supervision including liaison with the client and other members of the project team.
•Responsible for the analysis and design of structures in structural steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry, reporting to a Senior Engineer/Director.
•Analysis experience using Tekla Structural Designer 3D modelling software.
•Producing detailed calculations, both computer analysis based and by hand.
•Working with the technical team to prepare and produce drawings. Experience of utilising CAD software (eg AutoCAD) and ability to navigate Revit software using a suitable viewer would be an advantage.
•Liaising and coordinating structural designs with architects, building services engineers, suppliers and Contractors.
•Liaising with internal team colleagues to ensure design is fully co-ordinated.
•Visiting sites to inspect works and resolving site queries as necessary.
•Producing reports and correspondence.
•Attending and contributing to project meetings (internal and external).

ESSENTIAL
•Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in building Structures design.
•Proficient understanding of structural behaviour and analytical methods.
•Experience of a wide variety of products utilising different structural materials.
•Good written and oral communication skills.
•Sound ability in Mathematics and English.
•Good personal organisation.
•Ability to work with and support others in a team.
•Excellent attention to detail.
•Reliable and independent with the ability to deliver projects to agreed deadlines.
•Experienced in using Tedds, Telka Structural Designer, AutoCAD software.
•Experience working with the Eurocodes British Standards and Building Regulations.
•IT literate with experience of structural design software packages and Microsoft Office.
•Hold a valid Driving License.


DESIRABLE
•Accredited degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering.
•Hold or be working towards Chartered Status (IStructE or ICE).
•Technically competent and understand the fundamental stability requirements of structures and construction details.
•Experience of visiting sites to inspect works and resolving site queries, producing reports and correspondence.
•Ability to navigate Revit software using a suitable viewer.
