Our client, a fast-growing energy supply business, is looking for an individual to provide accurate financial administrative support to the station. The post holder will be required to work flexibly and confidentially in a developing office environment. This is an ideal role for a candidate who enjoys taking ownership, enjoys regular interaction with colleagues and suppliers, takes pride in maintaining an accurate ledger and wishes to work at the heart of a small and growing business.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchase, Sales and Nominal ledger maintenance
Bookkeeping to Trial Balance using Access Dimensions.
Assist the Finance
Manager in the preparation detailed monthly, quarterly Management Accounts.Processing and Reconciliation of account payables and receivables.
Payment of Creditors according to strict deadlines and company policies.
Processing Cashbooks daily.
Monthly and daily bank reconciliations.
Assist in the preparation of quarterly and monthly VAT returns.
Processing monthly accruals and prepayments.
Collating documentation for payments, supporting the FC with the payment process.
Daily use of spreadsheets.
Enter company expenses for both personal and company.
Sorting out incoming and outgoing daily post and answering any queries
General filing, data entry and correspondence, and other general administration as required.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, Attributes and Experience:
Skills:
2 – 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA/MBA preferred
Advanced Microsoft office skills – excel, power point, word etc.
Experience working with Accounting software and systems
Previous experience of working in a small accounts team and being responsible for sales, purchase and nominal ledgers and cash book and bank reconciliation.
Able to work independently to deadlines, whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
The ability to pick up new tasks quickly and the drive to process transactions accurately and timely to meet monthly deadlines.
Create and maintain excellent working relationships both internally and externally.
Proven ability to work on own initiative.
Well-organised.
Flexible and adaptable.
Good written and spoken communication skills.
Tactful and discreet, as you will be dealing with confidential information.
Strong attention to detail, numerate and analytical.
Experience of Access Accounting Precision Lite software would be an advantage, but full training will be given.
